We offer a true getaway far from any towns or public roads. You will need to travel approximately 25km of gravel road, some of it is a bit rough and preceding weather conditions may have an impact on the terrain. Off-road vehicles with a decent ground clearance are needed. All supplies and groceries need to be brought with as the closest town (Hopetown) is about an hour away. Please take note that the drive from the N12 can be tiring if you are pressed for time. Therefore, it is sadly not recommended if you are looking for a quick and easy stop-over during a long journey. If however you have some time to spend and enjoy the scenic route, it is a lovely place to rest up.

Being quite isolated it is recommended that guests take necessary safety precautions and bring along a basic first aid kit for emergencies.

​The comfort and happiness of our pets, as well as the many wild and domestic animals that call our spot home is very important to us. Therefore we do not allow visitors to bring pets.

​

Cell phone signal is very spotty, some mobile providers have a slightly better signal than others. We are also chuffed to report...there is no wi-fi, this is where you come to hide from your phone!

All plumbing facilities are fed by filtered river water, guests are required to bring along drinking water.

 

Fire wood can be provided at an additional cost with prior arrangement, but is not included in the cost of your stay.

 

Due to our location, full summer and winter conditions can be quite extreme. Guests should keep this in mind when booking their dates and packing for their visit.

 

While we take the safety of our guests, their property, our environment, and our facilities to heart we take no responsibility for loss or damage to property or self, and guests are requested to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and protection of themselves, our camp, and the surrounding area.

 

Most importantly, it is a wonderfully unadulterated spot to experience and enjoy nature. While we provide the essential comforts to help you relax and enjoy yourself, nature in all forms and shapes will invite itself to the party. So, pack your mozzy spray, allergy meds and sunblock and when you get here don’t leave your yummy snacks out for the monkeys to steal!
